CAT Monthly Working Group

The CAT Monthly Update Working Group call for April will be on Thursday April 10 at 2 pm ET. The Working Group will review guidance and updates from the CAT Plan Participants and FINRA CAT on CAT Transaction Reporting, CAT CAIS and CAT billing during the prior month. The Working Group will also review the current areas of focus for FIF members and the current open issues for CAT Transaction Reporting, CAT CAIS reporting and CAT billing.

FIF has scheduled a call for the Equity Market Regulations Working Group for Monday April 14 at 2 pm ET. The Working Group will discuss the testing and implementation process for the upcoming changes to round lot sizes and dissemination of odd lot data.

FIF Webinar on Electronic Communications Surveillance

On Monday April 28 at 3 pm ET, FIF is hosting a webinar on Electronic Communications Surveillance. The moderator for the panel will be Holly Dito of Daiwa. The panelists will be Rajni Chidambaram of Interactive Brokers, Erin Clemens of StoneX, Donald McElligott of Global Relay, and Craig Warkol of the Schulte Roth law firm. FIF Event at AWS

FIF is excited to announce our next live event, to be hosted by AWS on Tuesday April 8. There are only a few spots left, please register as soon as possible if you'd like to come. After opening remarks from AWS, there will be two panels. The first panel will be New SEC Leadership and Regulatory Implementations for 2025 and Beyond. The panelists will be Susan Crozier (Global Head of Regulatory Compliance and Industry Affairs, Securities Processing, FIS), Adrian Griffiths (Head of Market Structure, MEMX), Jonah Platt (Managing Director, US Head of Government & Regulatory Policy, Citadel), and Krista Ryan (Deputy General Counsel, Fidelity). This panel will cover extended-hours trading, new exchange filings, changes to round lot sizes, odd lots on the tape, access fees and minimum pricing increments, Treasury clearing, CAT PII and Electronic Blue Sheets, other regulations that will impact retail brokers, liquidity providers, exchanges and the back office, and regulatory strategies for 2025.

The second panel will be Technology Developments in Capital Markets. The panelists will be Alex Mirarchi (Head of Business Development for Financial Market Infrastructure and Trading, AWS), Andrew Oppenheimer (Head of Business Development, Nasdaq), Shawn Sloves (CEO, Fundamental Interactions), and David Taylor (CEO, Exegy). The panel will be moderated by Tom Jordan (CEO, Jordan & Jordan) and cover the following topics: 24-hour trading; volume/capacity/latency; digital/crypto assets; market data in cloud or hybrid; fractional share reporting; and security requirements.

The event will take place at the offices of AWS at 12 West 39th Street, New York, NY. Registration and networking begins at 4:15 pm ET. The panel discussions will be from 5-6:30 pm ET, with refreshments and networking afterwards from 6:30-8 pm ET. FIF would like to thank AWS for hosting this event.
