One Minute Reporting for TRACE and MSRB RTRS

Dear FIF TRACE Working Group Members,

Please note the following announcements today from FINRA and the MSRB.

FINRA July 2023 Board Update

The FINRA Board of Governors met last week for the third time this year, and I am pleased to share some updates from our discussions.

Reducing the TRACE-Reporting Timeframe From 15-Minutes to One Minute – The Board approved the submission to the SEC of proposed amendments to reduce the 15-minute TRACE reporting timeframe to one minute and provide focused exceptions for firms with de minimis reporting activity and for manual trades.

MSRB Board Announces Discussion Topics for its Quarterly Board Meeting

The Board of Directors of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) will meet in Washington, D.C. on July 26-27, 2023 for its final quarterly meeting of the fiscal year.

The Board will discuss proposed amendments to MSRB Rule G-14 to shorten the timeframe for trades to be reported to the MSRB from 15 minutes to as soon as practicable, but no later than one minute, subject to certain exceptions.

Please send an email to fifinfo@fif.com with any questions or suggestions.

Best Regards,
