Announcing Changes to FIF Leadership

Dear FIF Members,

I am sending this email with mixed emotions as I have decided to step down as Director of FIF, effective July 24, 2020.   While I will no longer be part of the FIF Program Office, I am not going away.  I will be joining a FIF member firm as Chief Compliance Officer and in that role, I will continue my involvement with FIF.

For those of you who know me, this may come as a surprise.  Since I joined FIF in 2016, I have grown to deeply respect the FIF mission.  Since our founding in 1996, FIF has been a hallmark of camaraderie and coordination between stakeholders, often with conflictual interests, with the goal of getting regulatory initiatives done ‘right.’  FIF is a product of our members’ continued willingness to share their collective expertise amongst peers, which ultimately resulted and will continue to result in the more efficient and cost-effective implementation of countless regulatory initiatives. I am humbled to have been placed in a position to lead an organization that derives its success through fostering mutual respect, information sharing, and a collaborative spirit.

The decision to step down as FIF Director was incredibly difficult because of you, our members.  My role as Director of FIF has afforded me an opportunity to learn from industry experts who are the best at what they do.  Your generosity in sharing your expertise with me has been a gift that allowed me to uncover my deep passion for our industry.  While I do not have the words to express my gratitude for your support, trust, and friendship, please accept two:  thank you.

While I am sad to be leaving FIF, FIF will continue to expand upon the value we strive to provide our membership. Since our founding, FIF has continued to grow and evolve through the transition to new leadership.  Charlotte Cooney, Manisha Kimmel, Mary Lou Von Kaenel, Bill Hebert, and I led FIF in varied and unique ways, but were all true to the FIF Mission of “addressing and resolving critical implementation issues that impact the securities industry.”  The search for the new Director is well underway and I will continue to support FIF during the transition to new leadership.  Kevin McCabe, Caroline DeVito, the new Director and the rest of the Jordan & Jordan team will continue our mission and strive as we always have to support the membership through the complexities of the rule implementation process.

With Best Regards,

Christopher Bok
